Clinch River Health Services Hosts
Community Young Mothers Celebration The spirit of community support is set to shine brightly on Thursday, May 16, as Clinch River Health Services hosts its inaugural "Community Young Mothers Celebration" from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at their location on 17285 Veterans Memorial Hwy.
This event is not just a celebration but a testament to the power of collective care and support for caregivers of young children in the community. With an array of free services and resources available, it promises to be an afternoon filled with empowerment and assistance for those who need it most. One of the standout features of the event is the provision of essential baby supplies. Free baby diapers and wipes will be distributed to help alleviate the financial burden many young families face. It's a small gesture with a significant impact, considering that nearly 1 in 3 American families struggle to afford an adequate supply of diapers, which can lead to serious health problems for babies and parents alike. In addition to baby supplies, the celebration will offer car seat checks to ensure the safety of young passengers. For those in need, free car seats will be provided to anyone with WIC or Medicaid, ensuring that families can travel safely without added financial strain. Recognizing the importance of addressing opioid overdose, the event will also feature free Narcan training. Narcan is a vital medication that rapidly reverses opioid overdoses, potentially saving lives in critical situations. Furthermore, attendees can look forward to receiving free food boxes, coloring books for children, and the chance to win exciting door prizes. The event wouldn't be possible without the generous support of various organizations, including Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, Scott County Public Library, Healthy Families of SW VA, Virginia Department Of Health, Appalachian Community Action, Appalachian Sustainable Development, and Dungannon Development Commission.
"We're thrilled to host this celebration and provide much-needed support to families with young children in our community," says Crystal Ball, Chief Operations Officer of Clinch River Health Services. "By coming together and offering these resources, we hope to alleviate some of the challenges faced by young families and create a stronger, healthier community for all." All are welcome to attend this event, regardless of age or background. Whether you're a young mother in need of assistance or a member of the community looking to show support, mark your calendars for the "Community Young Mothers Celebration" at Clinch River Health Services. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors and friends. Cervical Cancer Awareness
